News : Return of a married man

Hello! I’m finally back from the sunny weather, beaches, surf and good food of Oahu and Kauai and the not so sunny weather of San Francisco (…well, it was a bit sunny). Thanks for all of your kind comments while I have been away and thanks for all of your congratulations. Both the lovely Clare (aka Mrs. Cruze!) and I had a fantastic wedding and honeymoon. Getting married really is as good, and not as scary, as you think it’s going to be.

I’m glad you all enjoyed the guest podcast mix by the Bay area’s funkiest DJ – DJ Dyslexic. Apologies that it didn’t properly appear in the RSS feed as it should have and hence didn’t get picked up by iTunes and the other podcatchers. I’m not really sure why but I tweaked a few things and it appeared. This has happened a few times so I’ll look into it. Big love to DJ Dyslexic for his guest mix. It’s awesome and I’m listening to it my iPod right now. Also thanks to him and his lovely girlfriend Megan for hooking up with us in San Francisco and buying us lunch. Dinner is on us if you come over to Manchester!

As I promised in episode #19 of the podcast I was going to do three mixes for you while I was away. I had the funky one courtesy of my man Dyslexic. I posted the first half of an old mix tape here. I also promised a tougher electro mix and I did manage to get a free hour to drop a few tunes into a mix for you all. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to upload it before I got married though so I’ll get it ready tonight and post it for you all in the next few days. I’ll also get the b-side the “Hey Mr DJ” tape uploaded for you too as it is already ripped. Lots of house music fun for your earbuds!

So DJ Cruze is back with a vengence and I’m ready to get the website rocking for all of you guys and girls who love funky house music in the next few months! Look out for a new look (hopefully, if I can find some decent web designers to help me Simon) and plenty of new tunes and remixes. Watch this space.

    Pleasure to have the just married couple back!!!
    So, keep up with the funky episodes for us mate, I really enjoy them and as you can see in my comment in epidose#16! Particularly that one was THE BEST for me, and I just can’t stop listening to it! Everyday at the gym I listen the episode#16, I have all the episodes and the mixes as well, but that one I never get tired of, it’s really amazing everytime I listen to it I like it more!

    Congratulations again…I’m glad to hear everything went well. Just wait for the standard question that everyone asks you when you get back to work, “so what’s it like being married?”. It gets a bit annoying after the 50th time!

    Nice to see you back and doubtless refreshed!

    Are you going to be allowed out late to all these naughty nightclubs now you’re married, or are you going to have to settle down? Let’s hope it’s the former! DJ Dyslexic took over admirably for that episode while you were away, but it’s good to see you back.

    I should be doing a new podcast at the weekend and I’ll be back to my regular “every other week” schedule from then on.

    Rob – No-one has really asked so I escaped that.

    Gav – Thanks mate. Yes, I’ll definitely be allowed out to DJ! Plus I’ll be in the studio a bit more now too. Looking forward to getting stuck into some more house productions.
