So as promised on podcast #19, here is an electro mix for you. I actually managed to do the mix before I got married but didn’t have time to upload it! I thought I’d do something a bit different for you this time and do a twisted electro-house mix. I’ve picked up a few dirty tracks, remixes and dubs that I thought went well together so here you go. It’s not my normal style of music as I normally play the funkier side of house music. Some of the tunes I am playing now are heading in this direction though so I’m sure you’ll love it.

The mix starts off with some fine 80s synth pop from Shena and drops into the dirty groover that is Mark Knight’s “Insatiable”. It then builds up through the massive “Easy” from Germany’s Trick & Kubik, the acid anthem that is Fedde Le Grand’s “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit” (…go on, put your hands up!) and onto the dirty bassline monster that is “Release” by clubland’s golden boy of the moment Chris Lake. Think 2am in the dirtiest club you can think of! It then heads off into dirty disco with Spiller’s “Jumbo”, tracky beats from Switch with his remix of Kelis’ “Bossy” and then through 80s vibes from Jaymo and Hauswerks, Lo-Rider and Michael Gray. We get all international at the end of the mix with the fantastic “Moonlight Party” from Italy’s Fonzerelli and then the French sounds of the Lifelike mix of Geyster’s “Under The Fuse Of Love”.

Tracklisting:

  1. Shena - Electrosexual (Main Vocal Mix) - Azuli
  2. Mark Knight feat. Katherine Ellis - Insatiable (Kami’s Dirty Crunch Remix) - Toolroom Records
  3. Trick & Kubik - Easy (Original Mix) - Data Records
  4. Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit - C2 Records
  5. Chris Lake - Release - Rising Records
  6. Spiller - Jumbo - Nano
  7. Kelis - Bossy (Switch Remix) - Virgin
  8. Jaymo & Hauswerks - Don’t Stop (Gutterpunk Mix) - Salacious
  9. Lo-Rider - Skinny (M-Factor Club Mix) - Absolution Records
  10. Michael Gray - Borderline (Michael’s Neon Wave Vocal Mix) - Eye Industries
  11. Fonzerelli - Moonlight Party - UMM
  12. Geyster - Under The Fuse Of Love (Lifelike Remix) - Shell Records UK

I hope you enjoy this one and make sure you let me know what you think in the comments section below. Do you guys and girls want more dirty electro house as well as the funky stuff?

No problems Sascha. I thought I’d try out some tougher sounds and see how it works. You’ll get some more funky mixes soon too!

  5. Stefan F at 3:32 pm on September 16th, 2006

…and please not not forget the b-side of your old skool mix, Marc. ;)
We cann’t wait to listen to it!

    Cheers,
    Stefan

  6. Dom at 8:38 pm on September 16th, 2006

DJ Cruze going all Axwell? ;) Sorry, couldn’t resist…
Then again, why not? I love most of the mix, it’s a nice change. It’s just a sound that has become quite predominant recently, and I’ve grown quite tired of it.
    What the funk? All good.

  7. djcruze at 7:47 pm on September 17th, 2006

Stefan F - Yes, yes I know! It’s mastered and waiting to be uploaded but I have to stagger these things otherwise my bandwidth takes a battering! It will appear in the next 2 weeks I promise.

Dom - Haha! We all have to have a change sometimes mate! It’s actually getting tougher to play funky stuff for me as the sound has changed to an electro sound, especially in Germany. So I like to play the funky stuff and put in a tougher tune too. You have to watch the crowds and see how it goes down.

Can’t get that Geyster/Lifelike track out of my head… sheer beauty. The perfect track to end a night out clubbing and leaving with a smile.

  30. Seb at 8:58 am on November 22nd, 2006

Cruze..my man, nicely done. Just love the atmosphere of the mix and ‘Easy’ just puts my mind into a dark electro frame of mind. Nice work and by personal preference my favourite mix so far.

    salute!
    Seba

  31. djcruze at 9:20 am on November 22nd, 2006

Cheers Seba. Glad you’re liking the tune selection. I’ll stick a new dirty house mix online for you soon.

  32. Steve at 9:07 pm on December 1st, 2006

I think this electro mix is wicked, the more dirty bass lines and beats the better and easier it is to party!!!

MAKE MORE!!and then put them on cd cos my computer is out of date and i cant get any of these mixes youve done, i can only listen when online!

  33. djcruze at 2:30 pm on December 4th, 2006

Thanks Steve! Expect some more dirty electro funk soon.
