News : It’s all gone quiet

I thought I’d better apologise for not updating my website very often over the past couple of weeks. I know that some people find my weekly chart useful but it doesn’t exactly make for an exciting website now does it?

After my computer crashed I have spent a bit of time trying to get it up and running again but I haven’t managed to finish it off. I’ve still got to find some of the nice delay and reverb VSTs on my back up hard drive and then it’ll be good to go. The podcast is about 3 weeks late now and I’m hoping to get episode #24 online at the weekend.

Work has been crazy for me too so I’ve not really had time to do anything musical for the past month. Hopefully I’ll get back into the swing of things in the next couple of weeks running up to Christmas as my harsh deadlines are due to end this week. Talking of Christmas, it’s almost time for the annual DJ Cruze Christmas Podcast so I’d better get another Christmas bootleg going.

Has anyone got any good ideas for what they’d like to be remixed? How about The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl with their Christmas classic “Fairytale of New York”? Or maybe even Wham’s “Last Christmas”? Haha! Post some ideas for me in the comments below and I’ll get the tune remixed in a DJ Cruze Funkfinders style!

  1. Hey Cruze, How about a John Legend remix. I know he’s not christmas, but he’s on fire.

  2. Hi,
Its a bit hokey but why not Whams – Last Christmas ??
The only thing that song is missing…..
is a bit of DJ Cuze Funkfinders Style !!!!
    Cheers Stefan

  3. Sergio – John Legend is a legend and I’d love to remix him but he’s not really Christmassy for the Christmas podcast.

Stefan – I was thinking that Last Christmas might be a funny tune to remix too!

  4. last christmas could be quite cool. How about an old Cliff Richard tune 😛
Can’t wait for the next podcast. Snow is finally here, hitting Aviemore this weekend would be good to have something new to listen to. Stay safe.

  5. The only Cliff Christmas classic is “Miseltoe and Wine” but that’s a top contender I think.

Stop taunting me with tales of snow Si. I’ve got to wait until February before I can strap my snowboard on! 😉

  6. We’re looking forward to the next Christmas podcast. We still listen to the 2005 xmas podcast, it’s great!

  7. Me too! I’m just checking out some Christmas tunes today to see what will make a good bootleg.

  8. Marc,

What about the song that goes “last christmas i gave you my heart and the very next day you gave it away….etc can’t remeber the name itmay be last christmas??? That over a dirty house bassline, some thing like Sharam – Party All The Time (Cedric Gervais & Second Sun Mix)

Oh and then send me a copy cheers fella, might see you over xmas..Mega!!!!

    Mark Fairhurst

  9. Erm…that would be “Last Christmas” then Mark! Were you not around in the golden days of Wham!? 😉
Of course I’ll send you a copy mate. Hopefully we’ll catch up at your night in Bolton.

  10. Wham! sounds like it could make a really cool remix actually… and it won’t be hard to top the original…

Then there’s always the old charity hit “Feed the World” or something like that… the chorus of that could be cut up to f*ck, as you say… or even combine the two to make an ultimate 80s christmas cheesefinders-mix

  11. Nice ideas there Kev.

I’ve dug through the Christmas vaults and I think I’ve chosen the best two. Just need to decide what sort of tune to make now. The new podcast comes first though! 😉

  12. Hey!
Well I’m gonna put in a vote for ‘Fairytale of New York’ if no one else is gonna…it’s my fav Crimbo tune!!
Looking forward to the new podcst tho… 🙂

  13. I love that too Sarah. I haven’t made the final choice yet but it’s a contender. Watch this space for the results.
