Charts : Best of 2006

So it’s that time of year again where I give you my best of 2006 chart. It was compiled by looking at all of my charts that I post on the website during the year and I used this data to come up with a chart based on what was hot and what wasn’t. Sometimes I chart tracks when I get hold of them and have a listen. That means that some tunes have been left out of the “best of 2006″ chart simply because they just don’t cut it on the dancefloor once I play them in a club!

So it represents 50 of the top tracks that rocked the dancefloors when I DJ’ed in 2006. Some of them are more obvious than others and they’re not necessarily in order – i.e. they are 50 of the best tracks of the year for me and #1 isn’t any better than #50. And yes, obviously I’ve charted my own mixes! :) I’ve probably forgotten a few tracks but I’m sure you guys can remind me of some hot tunes that you liked in 2006. So have a look and see what you think and feel free to argue with me in the comments below!

    Hello DJ Cruze

    I follow and check your charts almost every single day whether or not something new you give us. I was just supprised with the Top 50. I didn’t see David Vendetta in the chart. I think he was one of the best DJs of 2006 considering the remixes.

    Thanks for your comments Ugur. There are some good tunes there for sure but I have to be honest and say that I hated that Bob Sinclar track “Rock This Party”. It just didn’t rock it for me!

    alright mate, excellent tracks in your top 50. so many quality tracks came out last year, it must have been difficult to keep the list down to 50. have you had any reasonable bobby blanco/miki moto remixes recently?

    Yes, it was really hard to keep it to 50 mate. I’ve got a list of over 300 tunes for the year so I had to make some tough decisions.

    I have just been sent a new Moto Blanco mix of a Sophie Ellis Bextor tune but I haven’t had a listen to it yet. The last remix by them that I was sent was a Mark Morrison tune and it was pretty average. Production was good but the vocal was rubbish! It’s the way it goes sometimes!

    Sander Kleinenberg’s “This Is Miami” is a hot, hot tune man!

    cheers for the info on the moto blanco remixes. there were a lot of moto blanco remixes last year and some were ok. I am sure I saw there was a moto/blanco promo remix of a Mary J Blige tune called DA MVP but havent had a chance to get it yet.
