News : DJ Cruze is still alive

 Monday, March 19th 2007, 6:00 pm

You might have noticed that it has gone a bit quiet around these parts recently. I am still alive but I’ve just been amazingly busy over the past few weeks. As I prefer to keep this website more about music and less of a personal blog, I haven’t posted anything of any musical merit. So I thought I’d keep you up to date with what is happening and why I haven’t posted much.

So first things first. My lovely wife Clare and I are expecting a baby in June of this year and we’re both very excited about becoming parents for the first time. So I’ve been incredibly busy trying to get two rooms in my house ready for decorating. So I’ve spent the last few weeks dismantling cupboards and stripping wallpaper ready to have the rooms plastered, which has now been done. In the next few weeks I’ll be getting my paintbrush out and getting them decorated. One of them will be a nursery for our new arrival and I’ve really looking forward to painting that. We don’t know the sex of the baby and aren’t going to find out so it will be painted in unisex colours. Hopefully my brother will be painting some funky children’s pictures on the walls too as he’s the artistic one in my family. However, because of all this moving around my studio is currently dismantled except for a few things. I’m hoping to get a new podcast done soon but it might be without vocals as I don’t have my microphone set up. The shoutouts will have to wait until next time I think.

Amrick Channa
In any spare time that I’ve had left in the evenings I’ve been working on a new tune with the soon-to-be legendary vocalist Amrick Channa. Amrick has previously worked with some big name producers in the dance music world such as Tom Stephan (aka Superchumbo), Jason Herd, Kid Massive, Sandy Rivera, DJD Hydraulic Dogs, Black Legend (J:Reverse) and Pete Heller. We’ve been working on a cover of an old Strictly Rhythm track which I’ll leave as a suprise for you. It’s not a well known track although the acapella is and has been well sampled. The track is turning into a funky little electro track in a Haji and Emanuel style and I’m loving where we’re going with it. You’ll hear it first on the podcast so look out for it in the near future.

And finally in any spare time I have left I’ve been working on a web application which I have been meaning to write for a very long time. Although I’m not going to tell you what it is just yet, it’ll help all the music lovers out there and it is something that I would really use on a daily basis. I’ll be looking for beta testers for it in the near future so drop me a line if you’re interested. Also, if you’re a web designer who has experience with making clean interfaces for web applications and have a knowledge of graphic design, XHTML and CSS then I’d like to work with you. Get in touch via the contact form.

Even though I think I probably need a rest at some point you can expect a new podcast, sans vocals, in the next few days… Fingers crossed! ๐Ÿ˜‰
