Well this one took a long time didn’t it? Two months to get the podcast online is far too long I know but life has been a bit crazy at the moment. Our baby is due in just 6 days time so I’ve been busy preparing our house ready for our new arrival and we can’t wait to see if we’re having a boy or a girl. I’ll introduce you all to the mini-Cruze once he or she appears!

So it’s better late than never as they say. I’ve got another hour (…well, almost) of funky house music and electro house for your listening pleasure. Of course no podcast would be complete without the obligatory Cruze Classic and this one is massive. Liquid’s “Sweet Harmony” has always had a place in my heart and I can’t believe it has taken 31 episodes and nearly two years of the podcast to get it in the show. Enjoy the tunes and live in sweet harmony!

Don’t forget to rate this podcast so I know what you like and don’t like. Run your mouse over the stars underneath the title of this podcast and it allows you to rate it. If you like it then give me a big phat 10. If it’s terrible then give it a 1. Go on… you know you want to vote!

As always I love to hear your feed back on the show. Contact me using the form provided and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. I’m always looking for new tunes to play on the show so if you’re an up and coming producer who’s looking for some exposure then let me know and if I like the tunes, I’ll play them.

Here is the tracklisting for the show:

Si – Cheers mate! Glad you enjoyed the tunes. The pics will be online as soon as the baby arrives.

Stefan – Classic times in the Vibration, Lemon, Loft and everywhere else I DJ’ed in Germany!

  10. Actually talking of pics still to see your boarding holiday ones πŸ™‚

  11. hey mate,

the best party was I believe in the loft with a MC can remind you ?? have still an old tape of it….:-)

    gute alte Zeit πŸ™‚

  12. 10 stars!!! Already the liquid classic deserves them. 10 POINTS Mr Cruze!

  13. Si – Yes, haven’t put them online. I’ll stick them on my flickr account when I get the chance.

Florian – You’ll have to give me a copy of the tape when I see you next time. I don’t remember the gig! That shows I am getting old!

Michael – Thanks mate! Yeah, Sweet Harmony is a classic.

  14. Awesome mix, mate! Nice to hear you again.
My congratulation, man! Best wishes to you, Claire and mini-Cruze!

  15. yes Mate…oh sorry the gig was in the vibration club…DJ Curze with a MC was fantastic πŸ™‚

  16. Heh, back in the early days at Vibration there was an MC there every weekend. MC Manchesta if I recall correctly, a.k.a. MC Nosebag, MC GschisseZu, etc…

Always drunk, often more, and couldn’t sing to save his live. He got loadsa laffs and the party rocking, though… Good times were had.

Undoubtedly the biggest Cruze classic out there, I’m amazed in wasn’t in the first 5 podcasts…

  17. …took you 30 episodes to play this track!?!! Shame on you Mr Cruze. We want more of this kind cause we luv it!

  18. @Florian, I also want a copy of the tape! πŸ˜‰

How about you record it to your pc and make it available?

  19. Dennis – Thanks man. The baby hasn’t arrived yet but I’ll let you know when it does.

Florian – DJ Curze? That’s not me! πŸ˜‰

Kevin – Yeah, MC Manchester! Haha! Mr Vuish had a good sense of humour and a penchant for booze! πŸ˜‰

Michael – I know it took too long. I didn’t want too many obvious classics on the show and wanted to showcase some lesser known tunes. But there will be many big classics to come.

  20. Whaddya mean I can’t sing Kev? Surely my rendition of Robin S’ ‘Love for Love’ over the instrumental at Milk! is a moment in time that can never be repeated…thankfully.

I was always sober as a judge…the open mic was just too tempting… could have shouted anything – and I did – and people would still have ‘abgefahren’…great times mate.

Nice one Cweeza – no news yet on mini-ye yet?…will stay in touch.

    Love Vuish…er,I mean MC Manchester.

  21. Haha! You were indeed a legend on the mic mate.
Especially “happines….my p*nis!”. That will go down in history!

  22. Very nice Episode you got there, one of my favourite ones you ever made πŸ™‚
Keep it up, I love your music!

May i ask if it is possible to book you for a party?

  23. Hey

Can’t believe it’s taken me SO long to come across your podcasts! Lovin the Larry Tee track! Everyone in Stockport loves ya! Keep ’em coming. Congrats on the new arival too.

    – Alex

  24. Christian – I’m glad you’re loving the tunes. Yes, you can book me. Send me an email (by clicking here (or on contact at the top of the page) and get in touch.

Alex – I can’t believe it has taken you this long either! Big up to the Stockport masses! I’m only round the corner in Didsbury.

  25. You’re only in Didsbury !? Word.
I would really appreciate it if you came to play some filthy, trashy electro at my nan’s 90th. Thanks πŸ˜‰

    – Alex

  26. I’ll get her rockin’ – no problems!

  27. Hey Cruze,
a cool Podcast with an intensive DjCruze-Classic – very sweet πŸ˜€

    Greets Max

  28. Thanks Max. Glad you liked the classic this week.

  29. Hi Cruze,

I enjoyed the podcast again this week, definitely makes the day at work go by quicker. Love the Armand Van Helden track.
    Congrats on the baby.
And thanks for the shout out this week!

  30. Nice mix – still loving that NYC beat – that Armand bloke really knows how to make a tune doesn’t he?

I’m in Manchester too – do you ever gig round here? Been listening since episode #3, and you’ve got me back into decent music again. Still unsure of good places to listen to quality house in Manchester – Tokyo Project in Oldham is good when the Hed Kandi boys are in town, and Sankeys, obviously. The Warehouse Projext is awesome too – any suggestions of smaller places for a bit of House or Electro?

  31. Gav,

Club Venus on Dean Street is meant to be good for Electro / Funky House. Never been, but am going this coming weekend after hearing good things. I’ll let you know! πŸ™‚

  32. Nice to see a new postcast man. Always good to hear one of your mixes.

A few of these were a bit heavy on the vocal samples. Don’t get me wrong, strong vocals are what house music is all about, but I feel like with short vocal loops getting it right is a bit tricky. It’s a fine line between an interesting rhythmic accompaniment and an annoyance. Several tracks on this one were leaning toward the latter, although the beats were solid as slways. That Chris Lake track is one of the greatest things I’ve heard in a long time, by the way. I love anything with a nice jazzy lounge feel.

At any rate, congrats to you and your wife on the new arrival!

  33. Patrick – Cheers man!

Gav – I’ve not been gigging in Manchester for a while. I mostly do European gigs now. Check out the guys who do High Voltage for some dirty electro nights. Think they’re at the Ritz now every month. They have indie bands on too but they’ve got some hot electro DJs like Does It Offend You, Yeah? and Kissy Sellout.

Terry – Yeah, I know what you mean about vocal snippets. They can become a bit repetitive. I was always more of a vocals man but I like the dirty, dubby stuff every now and again.

  34. A bit too much Dirty House in this mix, we need some more FUNKY HOUSE!

  35. I’ll get some more funky tunes on the next show for you Chris.

  36. Hi Marc,

Bit late to this one but can I just say – absolutely fantastic comeback set! I’m liking your style at the moment; good assortment of different styles. If anything, I think you could do with a little bit more Scratch Perverts-style stuff. Maybe.

Loving the Micky Slim Calvin Harris mix though. The House of Pain one he’s done is awesome too.

Keep up the great work, and it’s good to have you back!

  37. Great cast …. some banging tunes on there, as always.

Congrats on the up and coming addition to the family … all the best and keep up the good work, Manchester’s a quietier place without you!

    PS …. red or blue??

  38. Thank Jooshlander. I’m glad you’re enjoying the tunes.

I’m hoping to be back with a new podcast this week but time is tight when you’ve got a baby.

I’m not a big football plan but most of my mates are Manchester City fans so I’ll adopt them as my team or my mates will kill me. Don’t hate me if you’re a United fan! πŸ˜‰
