Sia – The Girl You Lost To Cocaine (StoneBridge Club Mix) – Monkey Puzzle Records
Sia Furler

Sia Furler is a legendary vocalist in the dance music world. Perhaps best known for her work with downtempto masters Zero 7, she’s also had a successful solo career since the early 2000s. This forthcoming track has been remixed by house music legend StoneBridge and he’s brought us a monster. A funky pumping bassline, some massive synth strings and Sia’s beautiful voice make this a peak time stormer!

The H-Men – Show You Love (Bini & Martini Remix) – Brass
The H-Men

The H-Men are the house music veterans Paul Harris (of Dirty Vegas fame) and Aydin Hasirci (aka ATFC) and they’ve come together to give us a summer anthem. The remix I’m playing is by hot Italian producers Bini & Martini and they’ve turned the original tune into a huge electro house track. The bassline reminds me of Darren Emerson’s remix of “David” by Gus Gus and it funks along nicely with plenty of squelchy, detuned synths. Another great tune coming out of the new Muck N Brass labels.

Bionik Phunk – In My Head (ATFC Mix) – Born To Dance
Born To Dance
Another great new tune comes from the Brighton based record label Born To Dance. Bionik Phunk’s “In My Head” originally came out a few years ago on Germany’s Prog City label and it comes back fresh with a remix from one of my favourite producers ATFC. Sampling Tim Deluxe’s “Just Won’t Do”, ATFC brings us a breakbeat house intro with some subtle Rhodes piano and plenty of funky percussion before dropping some four to the floor funky house drums. A great little vocal tops off this tune nicely.

Inaya Day – U Spin Me (Mr Timothy Club Mix) – AATW
Inaya Day
The hardest working house vocalist on the scene, Inaya Day, is back with another quality house tune. Australia’s Mr Timothy has turned this into a filthy house tune that Herve or the old speed garage guys would be proud of. A deep and twisted bassline and some 80s style synth pads keep the tune chugging along nicely. Although it initially sounds like a cover of Dead Or Alive’s “You Spin Me Right Round”, it’s only the chorus that has been used as the inspiration for the track. I’m quite pleased about that as it wasn’t a tune I particulary wanted a house music cover version of! Great vocals as always from Ms. Day and all-in-all it’s a top tune.
