Twitter

I’ve finally taken the plunge and set up a Twitter account. If you don’t know what Twitter is then Wikipedia describes it as:

…a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send “updates” (or “tweets”; text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) to the Twitter website, via short message service, instant messaging, or a third-party application such as Twitterrific.

It’s a short burst messaging system which is similar to your Facebook status or something like that. It took me a while to see its merit but I think it’ll be good for keeping up with my friends and what they’re up to and also for telling you guys what I’m up to. So if you’re interested in what’s happening with DJ Cruze then check out my Twitter feed here:

http://twitter.com/djcruze

I’ll try not to spam it with lots of nonesense about me eating my breakfast but instead you’ll get updates on what’s happening in the studio, the big tunes that I’m playing and what’s happening at the gigs I’m DJ’ing at. And it’ll all be in 140 characters or less! So check out the DJ Cruze Twitter feed and follow me if you want to know the word on the street!

Blimey, Twitter’s only several years old now - you are ahead of the game aren’t you? ;)

Good move joining in though mate. While there are some negative points to Twitter, it does open up a whole new world in respect to communication channels, allowing you to broadcast announcements to “friends” from a central point and, thankfully, a single text message.

I admire your decision to keep your Tweets strictly to your DJ career. I’ve fell into that trap of Twittering pretty much everything that happens, hence why I recently broke the 3,000 mark!

Also, you might be interested in some of the Facebook apps that integrate with Twitter which automatically synchronises your recent status changes.

I never claimed to be ahead of the game mate! ;)

Althought I was aware of it for a long time I couldn’t really see the point of it. But now I’ve realised that it might be useful but only time will tell if it is. I don’t want people to know the minutia of my life but they might find the DJ and music production points interesting.

Unfortunately, I lead such a dull life, I have nothing to Twitter about…unless anyone is interested about me buying new tyres for my Mini or what colour I’m thinking of varnishing my garden table?!

So what colour are you thinking of varnishing your garden table mate? The public want to know!

I know what you mean though. That’s why I don’t want to make smalltalk via Twitter. Some people might be interested in what I’m doing with DJ’ing and music production so I’ll see how it goes. I might well get bored pretty quickly!
