DJ Cruze Podcast Episode #48 - Best Of 2008 Mix - Part 2 - The Electro House Mix

Here’s part 2 of my “Best Of 2008 Mix” and it’s 70 minutes of electro and progressive house goodness! There were plenty of great tougher house tracks in 2008 and hopefully I’ve chosen the best ones for you.

Best Of 2008 Mix – The Electro House Mix Tracklisting

[00:00:00] Marco Demark feat Casey Barnes – Tiny Dancer (John Dahlbäck Mix) – 3Beat Blue

Tiny Dancer is one of my favourite Elton John tracks and this electro house version was a big hit in 2008 for Marco Demark (and not Marco Denmark as I called him for a long time!) Hot Swedish tech-house producer John Dahlbäck turned this track into a jumpy electro house track with a nice breakdown. Lovely!

[00:05:39] Pryda – Rafunk – Pryda

Ask most people who the hottest electro house producer of 2008 was and I’d guarantee that a high percentage would say Sweden’s Eric Prydz. The Swedish House Mafia producer released so many high quality tracks in 2008, most on his Pryda label, and “Rafunk” is no exception. A chunky and funky bassline and some haunting strings make this a winner.

[00:10:22] Deadmau5 – Hi Friend (Original Mix) – Mau5trap

Ask the people who didn’t say Eric Prydz was the hottest electro house producer of 2008 who it was and they would probably have told you Deadmau5 instead. The hot Canadian producer blew up to be one of the most in-demand DJs and producers in 2008, producing loads of big tracks and remixes. The track “Hi Friend” features MC Flipside on vocals and takes hip-house into the 21st century with its dirty beats and bassline. A massive track!

[00:15:49] ATFC feat Yasmeen – Tell U Y (New Jack Swing Original) – Strictly

Aydin The Funki Chilli has been a huge house music producer since the mid 90s and has always featured heavily in my charts. This year ATFC reinvented himself, moving away from the older disco-house sound and moved into tougher, electro house territory. This track came out towards the end of the year and features a dirty, bouncing bassline and a great vocal.

[00:21:43] Inkfish & David West РHello Piano (S̩bastien L̩ger Remix) РMistakes Music

Another big French house producer blew up in 2008 and Sébastien Léger was his name. He’s been around since the late 90s and like AFTC, made a name for himself with more of a disco-cut up house sound. In the past few years he’s been playing and producing a tougher, tech-house sound and this track on his own Mistakes Music label is a great example of his work. A progressive house track which builds and builds and finally drops down into an epic breakdown.

[00:28:07] Passenger 10 – Mirage (EDX’s 5un5hine Remix) – White

Swiss producer EDX is another of 2008’s success stories and last year was the year he became a household name for his remixes and productions. His name appear on remixes for lots of bigger named artists and his productions had a similar feel to Deadmau5’s production style. Passenger 10’s “Mirage” rocked my floors with its building bassline and awesome strings.

[00:34:35] Buy Now – Body Crash (Laidback Luke’s Remix) – La Mode

Dutch producer Laidback Luke had a fantastic year in 2008 and his remix of “Body Crash” by Buy Now (aka Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso) was huge. Featuring a disco sample of “Let’s All Chant” and a dark and moody bit-crushed bassline it featured in the charts of all of the A-list DJs.

[00:40:18] Arno Cost & Norman Doray РApocalypse (S̩bastien L̩ger Remix) РCR2

This is probably one of my favourite tracks of 2008. Young French house producers Arno Cost and Norman Doray gave us “Apocalypse” and Sébastien Léger turned it into an anthem! Awesome arpeggiated synths take us to a massive breakdown. A fantastic track.

[00:48:11] Erick Morillo & DJ DLG – Where Are You Now (Original Mix) – Subliminal

This was the summer anthem in Ibiza and was hammered by loads of the top DJs. Canada’s DJ DLG teamed up with the infamous Erick Morillo for this electro house monster. Check out Morillo dropping it at WMC to see the crowd’s reaction.

[00:57:18] Dirty South & Axwell – Open Your Heart (Vocal Mix) – Axtone

Two of the biggest producers, Dirty South and Axwell, teamed up to bring us this massive electro house track on Axwell’s Axtone label. Featuring an old school vocal, a massive bassline and big strings it blew up big time and cemented both producers reputations for producing anthems.

[01:04:25] Sebastian Ingrosso & Laidback Luke – Chaa Chaa (EDX’s Marakesh Souk Remix) – Size

EDX gave us another great remix of Sebastian Ingrosso and Laidback Luke’s “Chaa Chaa”. It ends my electro house mix with a quality progressive house track with EDX’s trademark string sound. A great end to a year of quality electronic house music.

So I hope you enjoyed the tougher “Best Of 2008” Electro House Mix as much as the “Best Of 2008” house mix too. Hopefully 2009 will bring us another year of top notch tracks and I look forward to compiling the “Best Of 2009” mix next year.

DJ Cruze Podcast Episode #47 - Best Of 2008 Mix - Part 1 - The House Mix

Happy new year to all of the DJ Cruze podcast listeners!

It’s that time of the year when I give you the “Best Of…” mix for the year that has just gone and apologies that it’s a day late. The main reason for this has been trying to choose all of the fantastic tunes to put into the mix. It took me about 4 hours of listening to the great house tracks from 2008 to whittle it down to around 60 tracks which I wanted to use. There’s obviously no way I can get these into a 1 hour house mix so I have decided to do two “Best Of 2008” house music mixes. This one is the first and it features the best house tracks from 2008 into one CD-length mix with no talking. Hopefully I’ve chosen some of the tracks you love too!

Best Of 2008 Mix – The House Mix Tracklisting

[00:00:00] The Ting Tings – Great DJ (Calvin Harris Remix) – Columbia

It’s been a massive year for the indie band The Ting Tings and also for Calvin Harris as an artist and remixer. I loved this cheeky house mix with its infectious “the drums” repeated vocal. It sounds like a house track which has come from the 60s or 70s with its almost psychedelic bassline. A fantastic track.

[00:06:18] Harris & Spoon feat Sam Obernik – Baditude (Club Mix) – Toolroom Records

Dave Spoon is one of my favourite producers from the past few years and he’s teamed up with Dirty Vegas’ Paul Harris and awesome vocalist Sam Obernik for this killer house track. It’s got a dirty bassline, some Spanish guitars and a quirky vocal. I love the percussion on it too – fantastic drum programming from those guys. It definitely rocked Miami and Ibiza this year.

[00:12:07] Tim Deluxe – You Got Tha Touch (Original) – Skint

A somewhat underrated track from one of the UKs biggest house music producers. Tim Deluxe can turn his hands to anything, be it speed garage, US garage, tech house or progressive house. You name it and he can produce a phat track around it! This track is just totally different than anything that came out in 2008. Great ethnic percussion, a chunky bassline and a really interesting vocal. Great stuff!

[00:18:22] The Whitest Boy Alive – Golden Cage (Fred Falke Mix) – Modular

Ah Fred Falke. How much do I love you? Well, not in that way but as a producer of the best house tracks in the past couple of years. Fred stands out from the pack with his fantastic musical abilities and unique production style. Taking a leaf out of the French producers handbook but moving it on to new heights. He takes The Whitest Boy Alive into a fantastic Moog lead funky house track. Probably my most played track of the year (…I’ll have to look at my Last.fm account to check!) The breakdown almost makes me cry too! Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone!

[00:24:52] Machines Don’t Care – Afrojacker – White

Another great house track which pays homage to the old rave and speed garage tracks of yester-year. Machines Don’t Care is a collective of some of the hottest new producers around like Herve, Trevor Lovey, Sinden, Fake Blood, Toddla T (and lots of others I think). This is a great percussion led track with a killer horn breakdown. I’m a sucker for those horns!

[00:29:56] Till West & Eddie Thoneick – Hi N Bye (Smax & Gold Remix) – Phunkwerk

Eddie Thoneick, Eric Smax and Thomas Gold. Three of the best producers of the moment. Team them up with Till West and you’ve got a killer house track. The breakdown on this one is amazing. Great strings and a cheeky disco sample in the background combines really well with the vocals.

[00:37:11] Rihanna – Take A Bow (Seamus Haji Remix) – Mercury

Probably the best remix that Seamus Haji has done so far. He’s turned a rather dull R&B track (in my opinion) into a brilliant electro house track. I hadn’t heard the original and I was so surprised at how he’s changed the track – and for the better in my opinion. Three gold stars for this remix!

[00:44:56] Adele – Hometown Glory (Axwell Club Mix) – XL

I love Adele. She’s got a brilliant voice and when I first heard Hometown Glory back in 2007 and knew she was going to be big. XL finally released this track as a single and asked the hot Swedish producer Axwell to do the remix duties. The results are just stunning. The club mix uses the vocal to great effect and leaves the haunting piano riff intact. If you’re looking for a tougher mix then check out his remode version too as featured in my Ibiza Sunset Mix.

[00:49:20] Axwell & Bob Sinclar feat Ron Carroll – What A Wonderful World (Club Mix) – Defected Records

A somewhat contentious track in my charts this year with some people loving and some people hating it. I’ve been playing a tougher remix but I love the original too. Anything that Axwell touches turns to gold and this track is no exception. Great crunchy percussion and a killer breakdown combined with a soulful vocal make it a huge track.

[00:55:22] Max Linen – Neon Lights (Original Full Vocal Mix) – Phonetic

Another underground hit for me but I love this track. A very punk-sounding vocal and lots of 8-bit synths make it a great house track.

[01:02:07] The Montanas & DJ Roland Clark – Music Talking (Fred Falke Remix) – Strictly

Fred Falke is back for his second massive remix of the year. This is disco-house at its best. It’s a simple formula – repeat the disco riff and “music talking” refrain over and over again but there’s few people that can do this to great effect like Fred Falke. Combine that with some phat rhodes keyboard playing and some bitcrushed strings and you’ve got one of the biggest house tracks of the year.

[01:08:00] Eric Prydz – Pjanoo – Pryda

What can I say about this track. It originally came out at the start of the year and it went on to be one of the biggest crossover tracks of the year but still kept its underground roots. This track “Pjanoo” has made Eric Prydz one of the hottest producers in the house world right now. Anything he touches absolutely rocks and I can’t wait for his Pryda album in 2009. Massive pianos. Massive strings. A killer synth bassline. A HUGE tune which has been caned by all of the biggest DJs around!

Right, I hope you’ve enjoyed part 1 of the “Best Of 2008 Mix” and I’ll be compiling and mixing part 2 “The Electro House Mix” in the next week. It should be online next Sunday (11th January 2009) with any luck!

DJ Cruze Podcast Episode #46 - Sexy Dancer - December 2008

Here is Episode #46 of the DJ Cruze Podcast or “The Christmas Podcast” as it’s sometimes known. It’s a couple of days late due to some Christmas partying but don’t worry, it’s packed full of slamming house beats for you to enjoy while you tuck into your turkey, goose or whatever poultry you might be eating during the festive season.

So what’s on the show this week then? Well, we’ve got some massive house tracks from the past month as always. Kicking off the show is my cheeky Christmas bootleg. In case you don’t know, I’ve made it a tradition to make a house remix of a Christmas track since the first one back in December 2005. What started off as a quick sample and drum loop back with my Nat King Cole bootleg has quickly become a bigger studio project for me. It was tricky to choose the track for this year and it was a toss up between Cliff Richard’s “Miseltoe and Wine” and East 17’s “Stay Another Day” and the latter won (because Cliff’s song is in 3/4 timing and was too tricky to work with! Haha!) I’ve turned this UK Christmas classic that we hear on the radio 24-7 through December, into a pumping electro house track. Hope you enjoy it and I’ll stick it online for you to download in the new year.

Other hot tracks on this show are the new electro house track from Bodyrox and a great new tune from hot Scottish producer Chris Lake called “If You Knew”. Following that we have two absolutely massive tracks. First up it’s the Arias remix of Arno Cost’s new track called “Souvenir”. It’s a blindingly brilliant French production which tears the floor off any club. After that we’ve got the hot new track from Super Mal and Phonat who have come together to give us the massive “Pixelated”. A wicked breakdown and a superb bassline make it a winner for me.

We’ve also got a DJ Cruze exclusive tune from Simone Denny called “Addicted” which has been remixed by my main man Dean Saunders from World Of Colour and Metrogroove records. He’s giving us a great retro-house remix with storming pianos and a great trumpet break. To finish the show I’ve got a superb Cruze Classic from way back in 1994 called “Sexy Dancer” by The Rockford Files. It samples the breakbeat classic “Feel Real Good” by Manix and used to get those hands in the air every time I played it. A brilliant 90s house track which still makes me smile when I hear it today.

Don’t forget that I’ll be back in a week with the “Best of 2008” podcast and then the DJ Cruze podcast returns to its regular schedule in January 2009. I’ll post a list of podcast dates over Christmas so you know what to expect in the new year. So make sure you all have a fantastic Christmas and New Year and the DJ Cruze podcast will be back with plenty of new tunes to rock your iPods and MP3 players. And if you’re buying anyone an iPod for Christmas then make sure you tell them to subscribe to the podcast for some rocking house beats.

DJ Cruze Podcast Episode #45 - Ghosts N Stuff - November 2008

Wow! I’ve actually managed to post episode #45 of the DJ Cruze Podcast early. It’s unheard of! Yes, I managed to get some free time this week to do the mix and record the vocals for the show so I’m putting the DJ Cruze podcast online at the start of the day rather than the end. In the words of Hannibal from the A-Team: “I love it when a plan comes together!”

So what’s on this week’s podcast then? Well, I’ve got some phat and funky tunes for you that’s for sure. Kicking off the show there’s a great remix of indie band The Hours by Calvin Harris. He turns “See The Light” from an indie guitar tune into a great house track. I love the bad scratching of their piano riff. It works really well. Then we move onto Chris Lake’s latest track “Only One”. Scottish house producer Chris Lake never fails to deliver the goods and this is a pumping electro house track with a great haunting vocal.

German producers Spencer and Hill feature heavily this month with two tracks off their “Most Wanted EP” on Tiger Records. Solid electro house tracks as always from these guys. Man of the moment Deadmau5 brings the title of this month’s prodcast with his epic electro houser “Ghost N Stuff”. Look out for the cheeky bootleg re-edit by Funkfinders (aka DJ Cruze aka me) with the extended breakdown and hat-tip to the new President elect of the United States. Finally you guys get someone who (hopefully) knows what he’s doing!

The podcast then heads into old-school rave territory with tracks from The Young Punx and Rob Freejak. I’m loving the old breakbeat driven rave-influenced tunes that these guys have come up with. Some of the so-called fidgety rave house tracks that are out there leave me a bit cold but these two come up trumps. We’ve also got a killer house track from Bimbo Jones with hot UK producer eSquire on the remix. Quality percussion and a great vocal on the track “And I Try”. ESquire is one of the hottest UK house producers around so make sure you check him out.

The Cruze Classic this week is an awesome house remix of Jamiroquai’s “Space Cowboy” by David Morales. A wicked track that stayed in my box for many years and I’m sure you’ll love hearing it again. And that’s about it so I hope you enjoy the tunes on the podcast.

If you enjoy the show then get in touch and tell me what you think or want a shout out. Also, why not consider donating some money so that I can cover the costs of producing the show. With the amount of downloads I have, it’s not cheap! And finally, don’t forget to comment on the show below and tell me what you think.

DJ Cruze Podcast Episode #44 - Better Days - October 2008

Episode #44 of the DJ Cruze Podcast has come a few days later than I promised. Sorry about that. I had a throat infection last week and sounded like a bad Barry White impersonator. I’m sure you’d have pulled your earphones out of your ears had you heard a podcast with that voice on it. So better late than never we’ve got episode #44 of the podcast with plenty of funky and chunky tunes for your listening pleasure!

Kicking off the show we’ve got some electro house fun from Spencer and Hill followed by a great new track from Dave Spoon and Funkagenda. Plenty of synth basslines and some lovely piano and strings. Then we’ve got a great new remix of The Shapeshifter’s classic “Lola’s Theme”. They’ve taken it into the electro house realm with their 2008 re-edit but I still think it works well.

We’ve also got a few remixes of old classics from Shakedown and Toni Di Bart, both of which still keep the original vibe but with 2008 production values. Lovely! Ending the show we’ve got a killer Cruze Classic from Jimi Polo with “Better Days”. It’s a wicked remix by Sasha, back when he used to make piano tunes rather than his progressive sound of today. An awesome track which I have caned for years! Enjoy!

If you enjoy the show then get in touch and tell me what you think or want a shout out. Also, why not consider donating some money so that I can cover the costs of producing the show. With the amount of downloads I have, it’s not cheap! And finally, don’t forget to comment on the show below and tell me what you think.

DJ Cruze Podcast Episode #43 - Walking On A Dream - September 2008

It’s time for another slice of funky house and chunky electro house to brighten up those dull days of autumn. What better way than episode #43 of the DJ Cruze podcast. It almost didn’t happen tonight due to a last minute hardware glitch but thankfully I managed to sort it out. I’ve just changed over to using my microphone via my laptop rather than an eight year old desktop PC which was feeling the strain but my audio interface decided it didn’t want to play nicely. Thankfully it’s all sorted now though.

So what’s on tonight’s show? Well, some awesome house tunes, that’s what! Kicking off the show we’ve got the awesome Phonat remix of the new Young Punx track called “Fire”. Phonat is an awesome Italian producer who always gives us top quality house tracks. Next up is a DJ Cruze exclusive! I’ve done given a house twist to an indie track by new band Empire Of The Sun. Their new track is called “Walking On A Dream” and I’ve turned an 80s synth pop track into a pumping French house tune with my Funkfinders Discoid Remix. Hopefully you’ll all like it but let me know what you think in the comments. It’s only a rough mix but once it’s finished I’ll post it online for you all to download.

The biggest track of the summer then turns up as I mix in DJ DLG and Erick Morrilo’s new track “Where Are You Now?” It’s the biggest summer anthem so make sure you turn it up loud! We’ve then got some nice and chunky electro house tracks from Deadmau5 and Shelltoe Allstars. Looks like the summer of 2008 is the time for hip-house to come back into fashion and I love it! Funkerman then gives us a mean and moody house track with “One For Me”. It reminds me of Fedde Le Grande’s remix of Camille Jones “The Creeps” and it’ll rock any dancefloor.

Another couple of dancefloor bombs appear in the form of Mark Knight and Funkerman’s remake of the Laurent Garnier classic “The Man With The Red Face”. The new Morris T remix is rocking my dancefloor at the moment. Then top Polish house producers Wawa team up with UK DJ Jason Herd with their latest track “The Right Way”. Another dancefloor slayer with a top electro house remix from Germany’s Chris Ortega.

Finally I’ve taken it back to the old school this month. Skynet UK give us a retro-sounding electro house track “Back To 89” with it’s old school synth stabs and vocal snippets. After playing that I couldn’t end the show without an old school Cruze Classic and I’m giving you the breakbeat monster that is “Bomb Scare” by 2 Bad Mice. An awesome breakbeat (or hardcore as we used to call it back in 1991) anthem which still rocks clubs for me even now. Who’d believe it was 17 years old!

I hope that these tunes keep you coming back for more!

Update: Seems like I didn’t completely check the audio and there’s been a bit of the Cruze Classic repeated which I hadn’t realised when I mixed it down to a WAV file to add the vocals. Sorry about that!
Update 2: It’s now fixed.

If you enjoy the show then get in touch and tell me what you think or want a shout out. Also, why not consider donating some money so that I can cover the costs of producing the show. With the amount of downloads I have, it’s not cheap! And finally, don’t forget to comment on the show below and tell me what you think.

DJ Cruze Podcast Episode #42 - Music Talking

What a terrible month August has been. A couple of days of sun and plenty of rain. It’s horrible. So what better way to kick out the UK’s “summer” than episode #42 of the DJ Cruze podcast!

I’ve got another hour of funky and chunky house tunes for you to get your rumps shaking to! I thought I’d kick off this week’s show with some darker electro tunes that I’ve been enjoying over the past month. Thomas Gold gives us a moody remix of Morgan Page’s new track “Call My Name”. Next up is the Ian Carey remix of David Rubato’s “Deep Inside” which is one of Ian’s electro house mixes which he’s been churning out recently. We then have Sweden’s Dumb Dan on the remix of an apparently famous rock track (I believe) by Nerved.

As you can see from this week’s tracklisting there are loads of remixes from the German production duo Spencer & Hill. Their remixes of Moby, R.I.O. and Giant Jr are rocking my box this month and I’m sure they will bring us even more funky house tunes before the end of the year. Also, check out the Young Punx remix of Giant Jr’s “I Want To Be Evil” if you like your dirty electro. It’s another wicked remix.

Two of the biggest tunes in my box this month are Platnum’s “Love Shy” remixed by the Soul Avengerz and Fred Falke’s remix of “Music Talking” by The Montanas and Roland Clark. The first is a massive piano driven remake of the old Kristine Blond classic. Then we’ve got a remix by my favourite producer at the moment, Fred Falke. He turns the track “Music Talking” into a French disco monster. When the bassline drops the crowd goes wild! A HUGE track!!

Next upI’ve got a new Dabruck & Klein remix of “What A Wonderful World” by Axwell & Bob Sinclar. This original version of this track caused quite a bit of comment on my blog as it was a love it or hate it track. This new version takes is down the electro house route and I think it works well. Finally we’ve got a DJ Cruze classic in the shape of “Into My Heart” by 6 by Six. I used to play both the original mix and also this bumping, piano remix by Grand Larceny. A classic which I’m sure the people who remember the party days at Vibration Club will remember!

If you enjoy the show then get in touch and tell me what you think or want a shout out. Also, why not consider donating some money so that I can cover the costs of producing the show. With the amount of downloads I have, it’s not cheap! And finally, don’t forget to comment on the show below and tell me what you think.

DJ Cruze July 2008 Mix - Ibiza Sunset

It’s been an awfully long time since I put a new mix onto my site so I managed to grab a couple of hours the other night and thought I’d do a new mix ready for my trip to Ibiza on Saturday. I’m off on a stag/bachelor weekend with some of the guys from Manchester and because the stag, Will, is a big fan of progressive house I thought I’d do a deep, dark and progressive mix for us to play while we’re out there. Obviously I thought you guys might like it too so here it is! I must warn you that it’s not my normal style and it gets a bit dark and twisted! It runs a fine line between electro, progressive and tech house but it’ll definitely get you in the mood for going out!

The mix kicks of with the king of electro house music, Mr. Eric Prydz and his homage to a Stockholm club called “F12” (…well, having just read an interview with him where he says it’s a favourite club of his, I’m assuming that’s why.) We’ve then got an exclusive tune from a soon-to-be-famous-I-hope Dutch producer Duart Jansen called “2 Cowboys” which is absolutely rocking. Then we head through a wicked Deamau5 remix of Mike Di Scala and on to a tough, jacking remix of Dave Spoon’s “88” by Mark Knight and Funkagenda.

Up next is another cheeky tune which is unfortunately doing the rounds on the internet but is too good not to play. I’m hoping Eric Prydz releases “Fabric Test” (which I assume was a test tune when he was playing at Fabric!) so that I can buy it but it doesn’t seem to be turning up on any of the legal download sites. It’s a wicked dark, electro track will sound huge in a club. I’ve then got a fantastic new electro house version of one of my favourite trance tracks, Three Drives – “Greece 2000”. Following that is an exclusive remix by the Funkfinders, otherwise known as DJ Cruze (yes, me!), on Alex Harmony’s “Nayati”. It’s a tougher remix than I’d normally do but I wanted to do something a bit different. It’s got chunky beats, a full on bassline and some massively crushed strings. Hope you like it! I’ll speak to Alex and hopefully I can put it on my website for you to download as it hasn’t been included in the final release. Let me know in the comments if you’d like to download it.

Moving on from my remix we’ve got a killer Deadmau5 sounding track from Dobenbeck and then onto Axwell’s Remode version of Adele’s “Hometown Glory”. I know I just played it on the last podcast but I love the pianos in it so I couldn’t help but put this version in the mix. Seemlessly mixing into that we’ve got “555” from the other members of the Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. This track almost has a techno feel to it but I think it’s just the right side of funky electro house for my taste. Finally we’ve got a massive breakdown with EDX’s “Premiumline” and onto the a jacking new tune by David Amo and Julio Navas called “La Sagrada Familia”. It’s a really simple track but it has that Fedde Le Grande “Put Your Hands Up” vibe about it. A future electro house classic perhaps?

If you enjoy the mix then get in touch and tell me what you think. Also, why not consider donating some money so that I can cover the costs of producing the podcasts and mixes. With the amount of downloads I have, it’s not cheap! And finally, don’t forget to comment on the show below and tell me what you think.

DJ Cruze Podcast Episode #41 - Neon Lights

It’s supposed to be the summer here in the northern hemisphere but you wouldn’t think it was with the amount of rain we’ve had in the UK in the past few weeks. So I’d better brighten up your day and mine with episode #41 of the DJ Cruze podcast. As always I’ve got some killer tunes for you and your MP3 player so make sure you crank them up loud.

In this episode I’ve got some hot house and electro house tracks for you and some awesome remixes from the usual suspects like Thomas Gold, Ian Carey and Axwell. One of the big tunes this week, and the title of this episode, is the new tune by Max Linen called “Neon Lights”. It’s got a fantastic indie vocal and massive breakdown. Definitely, a hot tune for the summer.

Another big track is the new Axwell club mix of Adele’s “Hometown Glory”. I loved this track when I first heard it on Hype Machine last year and was suprised that this wasn’t the first track she released when she got signed to a major label. Axwell’s club mix stays pretty true to the original and just adds some house beats and strings. It’s a bit commercial but I absolutely love the track. If you’re looking for a darker version then look out for his Remode remix instead.

I’ve also got a great bootleg mashup which I have mentioned in the blog before. It’s a cheeky bootleg mix of Spit’s “Falling” (Daddy’s Groove Magic Island mix) with the acapella from “Finally” by Kings of Tomorrow. It works really well, so much so that Hed Kandi have decided to put it on CD1 of their Hed Kandi – The Mix: Summer 2008 compilation. Kudos to Utopia and Jay Funk for coming up with it though! Check out Utopia’s podcast too if you want even more quality house tunes.

And finally I’ve got an awesome classic for you. Satoshi Tomiie brings us a big room “Anthem” with his Black Shells guise. It was a massive tune for me back in 1994 and it still sounds huge today.

If you enjoy the show then get in touch and tell me what you think or want a shout out. Also, why not consider donating some money so that I can cover the costs of producing the show. With the amount of downloads I have, it’s not cheap! And finally, don’t forget to comment on the show below and tell me what you think.

DJ Cruze Podcast Episode #40 - Afrojacker

Another podcast so quickly after the last one? Yeah, I don’t believe it either.

Here’s another slice of quality house tunes for your MP3 player from the DJ Cruze studios. There are some massive tracks on this week’s show. I’m loving the cheeky bootleg remix of Eric Prydz “Pjanoo” done by one of my favourite Swedish producers Patrick L. Sinden and Herve go crazy with the drums and horns in their new guise as Machines Don’t Care and their wicked track “Afrojacker”. Pump that one up loud. And what can I say about the Cruze Classic that is “Ultra Flava” by Farley and Heller? AWESOME! That’s what!

Enjoy the show and get in touch if you want a shout out. And don’t forget to comment on the show below and tell me what you think.
