Episode #44 of the DJ Cruze Podcast has come a few days later than I promised. Sorry about that. I had a throat infection last week and sounded like a bad Barry White impersonator. I’m sure you’d have pulled your earphones out of your ears had you heard a podcast with that voice on it. So better late than never we’ve got episode #44 of the podcast with plenty of funky and chunky tunes for your listening pleasure!

Kicking off the show we’ve got some electro house fun from Spencer and Hill followed by a great new track from Dave Spoon and Funkagenda. Plenty of synth basslines and some lovely piano and strings. Then we’ve got a great new remix of The Shapeshifter’s classic “Lola’s Theme”. They’ve taken it into the electro house realm with their 2008 re-edit but I still think it works well.

We’ve also got a few remixes of old classics from Shakedown and Toni Di Bart, both of which still keep the original vibe but with 2008 production values. Lovely! Ending the show we’ve got a killer Cruze Classic from Jimi Polo with “Better Days”. It’s a wicked remix by Sasha, back when he used to make piano tunes rather than his progressive sound of today. An awesome track which I have caned for years! Enjoy!

If you enjoy the show then get in touch and tell me what you think or want a shout out. Also, why not consider donating some money so that I can cover the costs of producing the show. With the amount of downloads I have, it’s not cheap! And finally, don’t forget to comment on the show below and tell me what you think.

It’s time for another slice of funky house and chunky electro house to brighten up those dull days of autumn. What better way than episode #43 of the DJ Cruze podcast. It almost didn’t happen tonight due to a last minute hardware glitch but thankfully I managed to sort it out. I’ve just changed over to using my microphone via my laptop rather than an eight year old desktop PC which was feeling the strain but my audio interface decided it didn’t want to play nicely. Thankfully it’s all sorted now though.

So what’s on tonight’s show? Well, some awesome house tunes, that’s what! Kicking off the show we’ve got the awesome Phonat remix of the new Young Punx track called “Fire”. Phonat is an awesome Italian producer who always gives us top quality house tracks. Next up is a DJ Cruze exclusive! I’ve done given a house twist to an indie track by new band Empire Of The Sun. Their new track is called “Walking On A Dream” and I’ve turned an 80s synth pop track into a pumping French house tune with my Funkfinders Discoid Remix. Hopefully you’ll all like it but let me know what you think in the comments. It’s only a rough mix but once it’s finished I’ll post it online for you all to download.

The biggest track of the summer then turns up as I mix in DJ DLG and Erick Morrilo’s new track “Where Are You Now?” It’s the biggest summer anthem so make sure you turn it up loud! We’ve then got some nice and chunky electro house tracks from Deadmau5 and Shelltoe Allstars. Looks like the summer of 2008 is the time for hip-house to come back into fashion and I love it! Funkerman then gives us a mean and moody house track with “One For Me”. It reminds me of Fedde Le Grande’s remix of Camille Jones “The Creeps” and it’ll rock any dancefloor.

Another couple of dancefloor bombs appear in the form of Mark Knight and Funkerman’s remake of the Laurent Garnier classic “The Man With The Red Face”. The new Morris T remix is rocking my dancefloor at the moment. Then top Polish house producers Wawa team up with UK DJ Jason Herd with their latest track “The Right Way”. Another dancefloor slayer with a top electro house remix from Germany’s Chris Ortega.

Finally I’ve taken it back to the old school this month. Skynet UK give us a retro-sounding electro house track “Back To 89″ with it’s old school synth stabs and vocal snippets. After playing that I couldn’t end the show without an old school Cruze Classic and I’m giving you the breakbeat monster that is “Bomb Scare” by 2 Bad Mice. An awesome breakbeat (or hardcore as we used to call it back in 1991) anthem which still rocks clubs for me even now. Who’d believe it was 17 years old!

I hope that these tunes keep you coming back for more!

Update: Seems like I didn’t completely check the audio and there’s been a bit of the Cruze Classic repeated which I hadn’t realised when I mixed it down to a WAV file to add the vocals. Sorry about that!
Update 2: It’s now fixed.

If you enjoy the show then get in touch and tell me what you think or want a shout out. Also, why not consider donating some money so that I can cover the costs of producing the show.
What a terrible month August has been. A couple of days of sun and plenty of rain. It’s horrible. So what better way to kick out the UK’s “summer” than episode #42 of the DJ Cruze podcast!

I’ve got another hour of funky and chunky house tunes for you to get your rumps shaking to! I thought I’d kick off this week’s show with some darker electro tunes that I’ve been enjoying over the past month. Thomas Gold gives us a moody remix of Morgan Page’s new track “Call My Name”. Next up is the Ian Carey remix of David Rubato’s “Deep Inside” which is one of Ian’s electro house mixes which he’s been churning out recently. We then have Sweden’s Dumb Dan on the remix of an apparently famous rock track (I believe) by Nerved.

As you can see from this week’s tracklisting there are loads of remixes from the German production duo Spencer & Hill. Their remixes of Moby, R.I.O. and Giant Jr are rocking my box this month and I’m sure they will bring us even more funky house tunes before the end of the year. Also, check out the Young Punx remix of Giant Jr’s “I Want To Be Evil” if you like your dirty electro. It’s another wicked remix.

Two of the biggest tunes in my box this month are Platnum’s “Love Shy” remixed by the Soul Avengerz and Fred Falke’s remix of “Music Talking” by The Montanas and Roland Clark. The first is a massive piano driven remake of the old Kristine Blond classic. Then we’ve got a remix by my favourite producer at the moment, Fred Falke. He turns the track “Music Talking” into a French disco monster. When the bassline drops the crowd goes wild! A HUGE track!!

Next upI’ve got a new Dabruck & Klein remix of “What A Wonderful World” by Axwell & Bob Sinclar. This original version of this track caused quite a bit of comment on my blog as it was a love it or hate it track. This new version takes is down the electro house route and I think it works well. Finally we’ve got a DJ Cruze classic in the shape of “Into My Heart” by 6 by Six. I used to play both the original mix and also this bumping, piano remix by Grand Larceny. A classic which I’m sure the people who remember the party days at Vibration Club will remember!

If you enjoy the show then get in touch and tell me what you think or want a shout out. Also, why not consider donating some money so that I can cover the costs of producing the show. With the amount of downloads I have, it’s not cheap! And finally, don’t forget to comment on the show below and tell me what you think.

It’s been an awfully long time since I put a new mix onto my site so I managed to grab a couple of hours the other night and thought I’d do a new mix ready for my trip to Ibiza on Saturday. I’m off on a stag/bachelor weekend with some of the guys from Manchester and because the stag, Will, is a big fan of progressive house I thought I’d do a deep, dark and progressive mix for us to play while we’re out there. Obviously I thought you guys might like it too so here it is! I must warn you that it’s not my normal style and it gets a bit dark and twisted! It runs a fine line between electro, progressive and tech house but it’ll definitely get you in the mood for going out!

The mix kicks of with the king of electro house music, Mr. Eric Prydz and his homage to a Stockholm club called “F12″ (…well, having just read an interview with him where he says it’s a favourite club of his, I’m assuming that’s why.) We’ve then got an exclusive tune from a soon-to-be-famous-I-hope Dutch producer Duart Jansen called “2 Cowboys” which is absolutely rocking. Then we head through a wicked Deamau5 remix of Mike Di Scala and on to a tough, jacking remix of Dave Spoon’s “88″ by Mark Knight and Funkagenda.

Up next is another cheeky tune which is unfortunately doing the rounds on the internet but is too good not to play. I’m hoping Eric Prydz releases “Fabric Test” (which I assume was a test tune when he was playing at Fabric!) so that I can buy it but it doesn’t seem to be turning up on any of the legal download sites. It’s a wicked dark, electro track will sound huge in a club. I’ve then got a fantastic new electro house version of one of my favourite trance tracks, Three Drives - “Greece 2000″. Following that is an exclusive remix by the Funkfinders, otherwise known as DJ Cruze (yes, me!), on Alex Harmony’s “Nayati”. It’s a tougher remix than I’d normally do but I wanted to do something a bit different. It’s got chunky beats, a full on bassline and some massively crushed strings. Hope you like it! I’ll speak to Alex and hopefully I can put it on my website for you to download as it hasn’t been included in the final release. Let me know in the comments if you’d like to download it.

Moving on from my remix we’ve got a killer Deadmau5 sounding track from Dobenbeck and then onto Axwell’s Remode version of Adele’s “Hometown Glory”. I know I just played it on the last podcast but I love the pianos in it so I couldn’t help but put this version in the mix. Seemlessly mixing into that we’ve got “555″ from the other members of the Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. This track almost has a techno feel to it but I think it’s just the right side of funky electro house for my taste. Finally we’ve got a massive breakdown with EDX’s “Premiumline” and onto the a jacking new tune by David Amo and Julio Navas called “La Sagrada Familia”. It’s a really simple track but it has that Fedde Le Grande “Put Your Hands Up” vibe about it. A future electro house classic perhaps?

If you enjoy the mix then get in touch and tell me what you think. Also, why not consider donating some money so that I can cover the costs of producing the podcasts and mixes. With the amount of downloads I have, it’s not cheap! And finally, don’t forget to comment on the show below and tell me what you think.

It’s supposed to be the summer here in the northern hemisphere but you wouldn’t think it was with the amount of rain we’ve had in the UK in the past few weeks. So I’d better brighten up your day and mine with episode #41 of the DJ Cruze podcast. As always I’ve got some killer tunes for you and your MP3 player so make sure you crank them up loud.

In this episode I’ve got some hot house and electro house tracks for you and some awesome remixes from the usual suspects like Thomas Gold, Ian Carey and Axwell. One of the big tunes this week, and the title of this episode, is the new tune by Max Linen called “Neon Lights”. It’s got a fantastic indie vocal and massive breakdown. Definitely, a hot tune for the summer.

Another big track is the new Axwell club mix of Adele’s “Hometown Glory”. I loved this track when I first heard it on Hype Machine last year and was suprised that this wasn’t the first track she released when she got signed to a major label. Axwell’s club mix stays pretty true to the original and just adds some house beats and strings. It’s a bit commercial but I absolutely love the track. If you’re looking for a darker version then look out for his Remode remix instead.

I’ve also got a great bootleg mashup which I have mentioned in the blog before. It’s a cheeky bootleg mix of Spit’s “Falling” (Daddy’s Groove Magic Island mix) with the acapella from “Finally” by Kings of Tomorrow. It works really well, so much so that Hed Kandi have decided to put it on CD1 of their Hed Kandi - The Mix: Summer 2008 compilation. Kudos to Utopia and Jay Funk for coming up with it though! Check out Utopia’s podcast too if you want even more quality house tunes.

And finally I’ve got an awesome classic for you. Satoshi Tomiie brings us a big room “Anthem” with his Black Shells guise. It was a massive tune for me back in 1994 and it still sounds huge today.

If you enjoy the show then get in touch and tell me what you think or want a shout out. Also, why not consider donating some money so that I can cover the costs of producing the show.
